About the work of Novovoronezh NPP Sept 9–15 2007

On Sept 13 2007 at 7:55 AM unit 4 of Novovoronezh NPP was stopped for 80-day planned preventive repairs. The personnel have started dismantling the reactor system and repairing turbine generator 12.

Units 3 and 5 operated at full capacity.

The radiation background was within norm.

The averaged gamma background at the plant, in Novovoronezh and at the 20 points monitored by the Automated Radiation Control System sensors installed in 13 settlements of the 30-km zone was within the levels typical of the Central European part of Russia.
