Kalinin NPP is symbol of Russian-French cooperation

A delegation of Electricite de France visited Kalinin NPP on Sept 20.

During their one-day visit the French experts met with the director of Kalinin NPP L.Martynovchenko and visited the plant’s machine halls and the control boards.

The French guests showed special interest in the renaissance of nuclear power engineering in Russia. “We see that you have potential for creating new capacities. We are also building new NPPs and we know that in such projects it is important to comply with the budget and the schedule,” the head of the delegation said. The guests were impressed with the plant’s equipment, especially, with the control board of the 3rd unit. They pointed out that Kalinin NPP was a good example of cooperation between Rosenergoatom and EDF and could become a symbol of Russian-French cooperation.

After the tour of the plant, the sides discussed the REA-EDF bilateral industrial project. The director of the project A.Lupishko told them about the course of the project.

The chief engineer of the plant M.Kanyshev expressed hope for further cooperation with EDF.
