In Nov-Dec 2007 ZiO-Podolsk is planning to supply Beloyarsk NPP with a number of units for its new BN-800 reactor

Particularly, the company is planning to supply a support ring and by 2010 all necessary elements for the reactor’s shell, the sales manager of the company Vladimir Grushevsky said during a press-conference. 

He said that presently the production of the BN-800 elements makes up over 20% of the company’s orders. This year ZiO is planning to have 8.9bln RUR sales – 2.1bln RUR under the contract with Beloyarsk NPP (17.7bln RUR – the reactor and 400mln RUR — the steam generators).

The construction of the BN-800 is to be completed in 2012. Presently, Beloyarsk NPP operates BN-600, the world’s only fast-breeder reactor in industrial service. France and Japan are also developing fast-breeder technologies but they have just research rectors yet.

ZiO-Podolsk is part of EmAlliance Aton, whose 51% belong to Atomenergomash.
