Technical state of Smolensk NPP

1st and 2nd units of Smolensk NPP in service

Unit 1 is operating at a capacity of 1000 MW. The capacity of unit 2 has been reduced to 530 MW because of planned overhaul of turbine generator 3. The units are operating safely and efficiently.

Unit 3 is being repaired. The repairs will last till Oct 5 2007.

As of today, Smolensk NPP has released 12.806bln KW which is 347mln KW more than planned for the period.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
