About the work of Novovoronezh NPP Sept 16–22 2007

Units 3 and 5 operated at planned capacity.

On Sept 22 unit 5 was stopped for planned preventive repairs. Unit 4 was also under repairs. The personnel were dismantling the reactor system, overhauling turbine generators 1 and 2, repairing turbine generators 3, 4, 11 and 12.

The radiation background was within norm.

The averaged gamma background at the plant, in Novovoronezh and at the 20 points monitored by the Automated Radiation Control System sensors installed in 13 settlements of the 30-km zone was within the levels typical of the Central European part of Russia.
