Leningrad NPP Nov 12–19 2007

Production

Last week (Nov 12–19 2007) Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant operated safely. No single incident was registered during the period.

A total of four minor incidents have been registered at Leningrad NPP since the beginning of this year against seven a year before.
In Nov 2007 Leningrad NPP generated 80mln KWh more than planned.
Since the beginning of this year the plant has produced 21.455bln KWh – 203mln KWh more than planned.

The average capacity of Leningrad NPP in Nov is 3050MW.

Unit 1 operated at 1033MW without stop.

Unit 2 operated at a capacity of 1023MW without stop.

Unit 3 is being modernized.

Unit 4 operated at a capacity of 1030MW without stop. The tehrmal capacity made up 3175MW.

Personnel training

211 employees of Leningrad NPP and 11 employees of contractor organizations were trained last week.

Both simulators operated efficiently.

Social and personnel policy

6 people were employed last week. 9 people are undergoing employment procedure. The total number of vacancies is 400.

14 employees were rewarded on the occasion of the 20th and 30th anniversary of their work at Leningrad NPP.

8 employees were attested with a total of 211 employees attested since the beginning of this year.

1100 employees have been sent to sanatoriums for rehabilitation since the beginning of this year, which makes up 92% of the total number of employees recommended to improve their health.

Financial-economic activities

This week the Financial-Economic Department sent necessary materials to the Sosnovy Bor Energy Committee so it could carry out water tariff examination in 2008.

12 of 840 real property facilities are being registered.

Physical protection, international and information activities

Last week the safety system of Leningrad NPP operated normally with no incidents recorded.

Results

As of Nov 19 2007 Rosenergoatom NPPs operated 26 units and 42 turbine generators, which worked at a total capacity of 20GW against planned 19.4GW. Since the beginning of this year the plants have generated 137.5bln KWh – 2.3bln KWh more than planned.

One incident was registered at the REA NPPs last week – automatic safety system of unit 4 of Bilibino NPP.

46 incidents have been registered at the REA plants since the beginning of 2007 against 36 incidents registered a year before. Exclusive the incidents registered at Novovoronezh and Kursk NPP during metal testing, the number of incidents makes up 37.

While summing up the results of the last week the director of Leningrad NPP Valery Lebedev said that the key tasks of the coming week – Nov 19–26 2007 are as follows:

— completing the preparations for the inspection of Rostekhnadzor and a special fire security commission. The latter inspection is starting Nov 20 to last for almost a month. Such an inspection takes place once in three years.

Note

Since Apr 1 2002 Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant has been the branch of Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian State Concern for Production of Electric and Thermal Power at Nuclear Power Plants” (Rosenergoatom Concern).

The plant has four units with RBMK-1000 reactors with a total capacity of 4000 MW. It employs 5,977 people: 5,635 industrial and 342 non-industrial employees and pays them 26,695 RUR a month: 27,306 RUR to industrial personnel and 11,380 RUR to non-industrial personnel.

In 2006 LNPP produced 23.178bln KWh against planned 21.330bln KWh. 21.198bln KWh were supplied to the energy system of Russia.

Since its launch the plant has generated over 730bln KWh.
