About the work of Novovoronezh NPP Nov 11–17 2007

Unit 3 of Novovoronezh NPP was under repair. On Nov 12 at 4:15 AM turbine generator 10 of unit 3 was restarted. Nov 12–17 the unit operated at full capacity.

On Nov 11 2007 at 11:55 PM turbine generator 14 of unit 5 was stopped by automatic safety system.

It was a 0 incident on the INES scale (not significant for safety).

On Nov 13 at 6:00 PM the turbine generator was restarted. Nov 14–17 unit 5 operated at full capacity.

Unit 4 was under repair: during the period the personnel were overhauling the reactor shell and repairing turbine generators 11 and 12.

The radiation situation at Novovoronezh NPP was within norm.

The averaged gamma background at the plant, in Novovoronezh and at the 20 points monitored by the Automated Radiation Control System sensors installed in 13 settlements of the 30-km zone was within 7.4–12.5 mRh with the normal level in the Central European part of Russia being 8–25 mRh.
