Unit 4 of Bilibino NPP restarted

Unit 4 of Bilibino NPP was restarted after overhaul on Nov 21 2007 at 2:22 PM

The key objective of the repair was to enhance the safety of the plant.

All the planned measures for repairing the turbine and reactor systems, the generator, control, measurement and automatic systems and refueling some of the fuel assemblies have been fulfilled in accordance with Rosenergoatom’s repair schedule 2007.

During the repair the personnel replaced the automatic regulators of the reactor control and protection system. The systems allow the reactor to work under changing capacity.

Specialists of contractor organizations, Atomenergoremont, Uralenergoremont and INESS, were involved in the repair.

The radiation background at Bilibino NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
