The key task of Atomenergomash OJSC is to demonopolize nuclear machinery construction market and to create alternative suppliers
The key task of Atomenergomash OJSC is to demonopolize the market of nuclear machinery construction, to create alternative suppliers as well we to gain influence over monopolists, the director general of Atomenergomash Kirill Komarov said at “NPP Construction” international conference in Moscow on Nov 26.
Almost 300 representatives of Russian and foreign companies took part in the conference organized by SBCD Expo.
Komarov said that one more important task for the company is to reduce the cost value of its production. Presently, Russian machine building companies can produce two sets of equipment for nuclear power plant a year. However, they are being actively modernized and in the near future will be able to produce four sets a year.
The federal target program for the development of the nuclear industry of Russia does not provide money for technical upgrading but new contracts will give the companies additional funds for own modernization. Atomenergomash’s key producers are planning to invest 25bln RUR in production and development by 2012.
Komarov pointed to certain problems in the field of nuclear machinery construction, particularly, outdated technologies, growing prices, lack of serial order, high defect rate and, most importantly, low labor efficiency. As a result, Russian companies earn 10–40 less than their foreign counterparts do.
