5th international youth festival of clubs of merry and quick-witted of REA NPPs is over

“RBMKs have won!” the chairman of the jury of the 5th international youth festival of the clubs of merry and quick-witted of the Rosenergoatom nuclear power plants said while announcing the winners. He meant that the top three prizes had gone to the teams of the NPPs operating channel-type RBMK reactors: Leningrad, Smolensk and Kursk NPP. The team of Leningrad NPP is the winner and we would like to congratulate them on this excellent victory!

The festival took place in Kurchatov, Kursk region. Nine teams from Slavutich, Volgodonsk, Balakovo, Udomlia, Kurchatov, Obninsk, Desnogorsk, Glazov and Sosnovy Bor took part in the event.

Our team is the best for the second consecutive year. Last year was their first time and the debut was brilliant.

It was not easy to win. “It was a very hard contest. Even the teams of the premier league do not play so much: in two days we took part in all possible formats. Some formats were a real surprise for us. For example, they gave us discs with episodes from well-known movies and asked to synchronize them. We spent two sleepless nights doing that! We were really worn out. But we were leaders throughout the contest,” says the leader of our team Natalia Slepova.

We would like to note that almost all the members of our club of merry and quick-witted are also in our team at Desnay youth festival. Perhaps, it is the school, tradition and spirit of Desnay that have helped our guys to win Autumn Maximum for two times in a row. We wish them more victories!

Simultaneously with the festival, Kurchatov hosted two more events: a coordinating meeting of the plenipotentiaries of the youth organizations of the Rosenergoatom NPPs and a conference of the International Association of Young Nuclear Workers.

Our representatives took part in both events.

The chairwoman of the Youth Organization of Leningrad NPP Natalia Slepova was granted a certificate of honor for outstanding personal contribution to the development of the public youth movement and active participation in the elaboration of Rosenergoatom’s youth policy.

Meanwhile, our merry and quick-witted youths are already preparing for the next events: festival of city teams on Dec 22 and the opening of the new season in Moscow on Jan 21.
