Fair of innovative projects Atomeco 2007 is to take place in Moscow Dec 4–5 2007

The fair of innovative projects Atomeco 2007 is to take place in Moscow on Dec 4–5 2007.

Atomeco 2007 will present projects to treat radioactive waste, transport radioactive materials, decommission nuclear power plants and other radioactive facilities, recovering the environment, processing industrial and domestic waste, etc. and will analyze the investment appeal of the solutions that might be applied under the Federal target Program for the Development of the Nuclear Power Industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and -2015 and the Federal Target Program “Nuclear and Radiation Safety 2008–2015.”

One more goal of the fair is to intensify innovative activities in nuclear power engineering, machine building and construction with a view to attract private investments and to develop the innovative infrastructure. 

The congressional part of the fair will consist of an exhibition and presentation of the most attractive projects, an international conference, roundtables, business meetings.

The organizers of the fair of innovative ecological projects are “Atomeco-2007,” the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom), Atomenergoprom OJSC and Atom Innovation Center.

Representatives of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control (Rostekhnadzor), the Federal Medical Biological Agency, the Committee for Industrial Policy of the Federation Council, the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Russia, heads of international organizations, Russian and foreign nuclear authorities, big international corporation are expected to attend the event. The Commisariat a L’Energie Atomique of France, the US Department of Energy, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the nuclear authorities of Finland and France, Areva Group, GRS, EnergySolutions, Nukem, SOGIN, Washington Group International have already confirmed their participation in the fair.

Over 150 projects from 65 organizations have been submitted to the fair. The projects have been examined by experts from the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy, the Association of Experts of Atom Innovation Center and Rosenergoatom Concern.

The best projects will be recommended to the Investment Committee of the sectoral Venture Fund for financing and involvement in the federal target program for Nuclear and Radiation Safety.
