Kola Branch of Children’s Nuclear Academy is starting its work in Poliarnye Zori in Dec
The mission of the Academy is to involve schoolchildren and students of colleges in research projects and to help them to enter leading technical universities.
“Children’s Nuclear Academy is part of the Nuclear Academy project implemented by the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and the Union of Nuclear Territories and Nuclear Enterprises with the support of the leading research institutes of the nuclear industry,” says the head of the information department of Kola NPP. “The key goals of the Academy are to help teenagers to reveal their talents, to adapt their knowledge and abilities to modern technologies, to provide them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills for further research activities, to inform youths about scientific and technological achievements.”
“The Academy will be headquartered at our information center, which has all necessary conditions for education process. The students of the Academy will be provided with deep knowledge of physics, mathematics, ecology, which will help them to enter university and to start own research.”
“We care for our youths because our task is to attract talented and well-trained young people in our industry. That’s why our plant is the founder and sponsor of the Kola Branch of the Academy,” says the deputy director of Kola Nuclear Power Plant Igor Kutuzov.
The project will involve students of regional colleges, who will be able not only to attend lectures but also to take an active part in measures conducted by the Information Center of Kola NPP in the framework of the project.
