Balakovo NPP has summed up the results of the contest of professional skills

On the occasion of the Day of Power Engineer, Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant has conducted traditional contest “Power Engineer of the Year.” As a result, the title has been granted to the five best workers. For the first time, the title has been given to a woman.

Let us introduce the winners of the contest:

Assistant engineer of the chemical department Svetlana Kokhlova has been granted the title for her effective work. She has worked at the plant since 1994.

She has big experience of analytical work. She has taken an active part in the chromatographic analysis of alkali metals and the launch of “Stayer” liquid chromatographs. 

Gennady Barkov has worked at the plant for 22 years. He took an active part in the launch of the 1st and 2nd units and the modernization of the plant. This year Barkov has made over 20 proposals for improving the technical documentation and enhancing the safety culture. This year Barkov has been granted Rosenergoatom’s silver medal for outstanding contribution to the enhancement of the safety of Rosenergoatom NPPs.

Experience, self-control, efficiency and precision are the key qualities of the senior operator of the turbine department 2 Alexander Solodovnikov. He has worked at the plant since 1992.

He is actively involved in the measures for enhance the safety and efficiency of Balakovo NPP and improve the labor conditions at the plant. Thirst for knowledge and constant self-perfection has helped Soodovnikov to win the second place at Rosenergoatom contest of turbine operators.

The engineer of the Electric Department Viktor Bortkov has worked at nuclear power plants for over 30 years already. Bortkov has taken an active part in the installation and replacement of electric equipment. He has really huge experience and is happy to share it with his younger colleagues.

This year Bortkov has been proclaimed the best in his department. He is actively involved in a number of crucial projects. 

The instructor of the simulator of the Training Center Viktor Serednyov has worked at the plant since 1995. He witnessed the launch of the 1st and 2nd units. At first, he worked in the turbine department but five years ago he was transferred to the Training Center so as to train personnel for the plant. Serednyov is often involved in partner inspections of WANO Moscow Center. In Nov 2007 he was proclaimed the best quality manager of Balakovo NPP.

This year Balakovo NPP conducted one more competition – the Best Department of the Year. The Thermal Automatics and Measurements Department has been proclaimed the best, the Chemical Department is the second, the Turbine Department 1 – the third.
