Units of Kalinin NPP are operating safely and efficiently

On Dec 18 mixed shifts of Kalinin NPP summed up the results of their work in 2007

Operators and heads of departments met at the Information-Analytical Center of the plant under the chairmanship of the director Leonid Martynovchenko and the chief engineer Nikhail Kanyshev.

Since the beginning of this year Kalinin NPP has generated 21.531bln KWh (or 101.3% of the plan). This year the plant has registered only 3 incidents against 9 ones in 2006. No on-site injuries and instances of radiation overdose have been recorded at Kalinin NPP this year. The radiation situation in the buffer and monitoring zones is within norm and is controlled round-the-clock.

Presently, all the three units of Kalinin NPP are operating safely and efficiently.

Martynovchenko expressed hope that all the tasks of 2008 would be fulfilled. The plant has lots of goals for the next year — ensuring safe operation, producing 22.200bln KWh, modernizing the 1st and 2nd units — and has all capacities for achieving them.
