Operational headquarters for Kalinin NPP-4 project sums up the results of this year

The operational headquarters for the completion of the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP have met in Udomlia

It was the last meeting this year. Representatives of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant, the general contractor of the project Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproekt (NIAEP) and sub-contractor organizations summed up the results of 2007 and plans for 2008.

The meeting was chaired by the director of NIAEP Valery Limarenko.

The director of Udomlia branch of NIAEP Vyacheslav Makhonin said that in 2007 the contractor and sub-contractor organizations did as much work as possible: they equipped the departments for production of concrete, reinforced concrete and armature for the reactor; provided the production areas with electricity and heating; started construction work in the main building. In 1991, when the project was stopped, the main building was constructed to the 13th level only. So, before restating its construction it was necessary to carry out some repair. The area for cooling towers is ready. Presently, the constructors are building the pumping station. 

In 2007 the contractor and sub-contractor organizations used 100% of the funds allocated for the period — 427mln RUR. 1,340 people are working on the site at present.

“Today, we have no problems that may prevent us from moving ahead,” Makhinin said.
