Leningrad NPP Dec 10–17 2007
Production
Last week (Dec 10–17 2007) Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant operated safely. No single incident was registered during the period.
Since the beginning of this year the plant has produced 23.531bln KWh — 353mln KWh more than planned (101.5% of the plan). Dec 1–17 2007 the plant produced 88mln KWh more than planned. The capacity factor made up 70.03% against planned 68.98%.
Last week units 1, 2 and 4 operated at a total capacity of 3083MW.
Unit 1 operated at a capacity of 1031MW without stop.
Unit 2 operated at 1032MW without stop.
Unit 3 is being modernized.
Unit 4 operated at 1020MW without stop.
Personnel training
204 employees of Leningrad NPP and 138 employees of 6 contractor organizations were trained last week.
The specialists of the Training Center of Leningrad NPP published one manual and drafted 27 individual programs.
Social and personnel policy
8 people were employed last week.
9 employees were attested with 241 employees attested since the beginning of this year – 96% of the plan.
Financial-economic activities
The Financial-Economic Department was preparing a report on its expenses in Jan-Nov 2007 and continued registration of real property facilities and transfer of 53 facilities of Sosnovy Bor municipal area.
Physical protection, international and information activities
Last week the safety system of Leningrad NPP operated normally with no incidents recorded.
International activities
The plant continued work under bilateral contracts and TACIS program and received representatives of Denmark and Finland.
The Information Service worked according to the plan, issued regular number of Herald of LNPP and published 45,000 booklets and other materials for the plant’s departments.
Results
As of today, Dec 17 2007, Rosenergoatom NPPs operated at a total capacity of 19.7GW against planned 19.8GW. Since the beginning of this year the plants have generated 151bln KWh – 2.8bln KWh more than planned.
49 incidents have been registered at the REA NPPs since the beginning of this year against 40 incidents a year before.
The Board of Rosenergoatom Concern met at Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant on Dec 14 2007. Acting Director General of Rosenergoatom Concern Alexander Lokshin, heads of departments, directors of nuclear power plants (including Leningrad NPP) and leading Rosatom research institutes and companies took part in the meeting.
The board summed up the results of Rosenergoatom’s work in Jan-Nov 2007. The conferees pointed out that in Jan-Nov 2007 Rosenergoatom’s NPPs worked safely and efficiently. No single INES incident was registered during the period. All the repairs were carried out according to the schedule. The Board discussed the measures for developing the nuclear industry and preparing the Concern for reorganization into open joint stock company.

Since Apr 1 2002 Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant has been the branch of Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian State Concern for Production of Electric and Thermal Power at Nuclear Power Plants” (Rosenergoatom Concern).
The plant has four units with RBMK-1000 reactors with a total capacity of 4000 MW. It employs 5,977 people: 5,635 industrial and 342 non-industrial employees and pays them 26,695 RUR a month: 27,306 RUR to industrial personnel and 11,380 RUR to non-industrial personnel.
In 2006 LNPP produced 23.178bln KWh against planned 21.330bln KWh. 21.198bln KWh were supplied to the energy system of Russia.
Since its launch the plant has generated over 735bln KWh.
