Holiday of children’s art

The 15th contest of children’s art took place at Neitrino palace on Dec 19. It was conducted on the occasion of the Day of Power Engineer.

There is one occasion this year – 25th birthday of the 1st unit of Smolensk NPP. The motto of the contest: “Prometheuses of Smolensk NPP are 25.”

The contest consisted of two competitions: essays and drawings.

96 schoolchildren from Desnogorsk and villages of Roslavl district took part in the contest. The jury received 118 works: poetry, essays, studies, tales and stories about Smolensk NPP and Desnogorsk, reports on ecology, drawings, posters, needlework, lacework.

Pupil of school #3 Daria Molotova was the best in poetry with a poem “Desnogorsk – My City.” The best works have been published in Smolensk Atom newspaper.

The pupils of the third form of Desnogorsk secondary school #3 were the best in drawings. Over 20 children got awards. All contestants were granted presents. The best works were exhibited in the hall of Neitrino palace. The crown of the holiday was a huge cake with “25” on top. 

Desnogorsk boxers have won medals at international tournament

The 34th international junior boxing tournament took place in St.Petersburg Dec 16–22 2007.

Desnogorsk boxers Roman Yashutkin and Aleksey Pylinsky won the silver and bronze medals. The sportsmen are trained by Nikolay Nezamayev and Denis Kozlov (both employees of Smolensk NPP).
