In Dec 2007 Leningrad NPP produced 160mln KWh more than planned

On Dec 26 at 6:00 AM Moscow time Leningrad NPP fulfilled its electricity production plan for 2007 – 24.210bln KWh.

The head of the Production Department of Leningrad NPP Yuri Nefyodov says that in 2007 the plant is expected to produce 424mln KWh more than planned – 101.8% of the plan. The capacity factor is expected to make up 70.3% against planned 69.09%.

Nefyodov says that from Dec 31 2007 till Jan 8 2008 the capacity of the units of Leningrad NPP will be lowered by 500MW – from 3040MW to 2540MW due to expected reduction in energy consumption during the holidays.

Nefyodov says that in 2008 the plant is supposed to produce over 29.4bln KWh. This is the biggest plan since 1985. “So, we will have to work hard during the year,” says Nefyodov.

Note:

Since Apr 1 2002 Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant has been branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian State Concern for the Production of Electric and Thermal Power at Nuclear Power Plants” (“Rosenergoatom” Concern). The plant operates 4 units with RBMK reactors 1000 MW each.

The plant has four units with 1000 MW RBMK reactors.

In 2006 LNPP produced 23.178bln KWh against planned 21.330bln KWh. 21.198bln KWh were supplied to the energy system of Russia.

Since its launch the plant has produced over 736bln KWh.
