Priority tasks of Volgodonsk NPP in 2008

Unit 1 of Volgodonsk Nuclear Power Plant fulfilled its electricity production plan for 2007 on Dec 10 at 7:11 PM and Dec 11–29 produced additional 533mln KWh. In 2007 Volgodonsk NPP generated 7.372bln KWH against planned 7.139bln KWh (107% of the plan). The consumers of the Southern Federal District were supplied with 7.301bln KWh with the plan being 3.748bln KWh – 108% of the plan. The capacity factor made up 87.58% against planned 81.5%.

In 2008 Volgodonsk NPP is to produce 7.498bln KWh and to raise its capacity factor to 85.36%.

On Apr 19 unit 1 is to be stopped for preventive maintenance till June 2. The personnel are to repair safety systems, main circulation pumps, steam generators, turbine generator and turbine and to modernize a number of systems.

It is a matter of honor for each employee of Volgodonsk NPP to fulfill the annual production plan and to ensure high quality of the maintenance campaign.
