In 2007 Kursk NPP showed best performance since 1988

The plant produced 27.768bln KWh: 12.8% more than in 2006 and 2.1% more than planned for 2007. The capacity factor made up 79.25% against planned 77.63% and 70.25% in 2006. In 2007 the plant generated 563,000 Gcal of heat.

Due to effective modernization, Kursk NPP showed the highest average annual output since 2004. Since its launch Kursk NPP has generated over 611.6bln KWh.

Kursk NPP is operating safely and efficiently. Units 1, 2 and 4 are in service. Unit 3 is being modernized.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
