The operational headquarters for the construction of unit 4 of Kalinin NPP met in Udomlia on Jan 17

It was the first meeting of the headquarters this year. The key topic was plans for 2008.

Representatives of Kalinin NPP, the general contractor of the project, Atomenergoproekt (Nizhniy Novgorod), and sub-contractor organizations took part in the meeting. The director of AEP Valery Limarenko chaired the meeting.

Limarenko said that 2008 would be a hard year “as we have really grandiose plans.” The director of Udomlia branch of AEP Vyacheslav Makhonin told his colleagues about the work to be done in 2008. Construction and installation operations worth 155mln RUR are to be carried out on the site in Jan. The priority is the construction of the shell and the cooling towers. “In the reactor compartment, we are installing armature, have put over 2,000 c m of concrete in the floor slab of the 13th level, have built the thermal circuit and the heating system of the industrial premises.”

A representative of Stroytransgaz company proposed increasing the rate of the construction and revising the schedule. The general contractor supported the proposal.
