Leningrad NPP today, Jan 18 2008

Since the beginning of this year units 1, 2 and 4 of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant have produced 1.183bln KWh.

Since its launch, Dec 1973, the plant has generated 738.075bln KWh.

Presently, units 1, 2 and 4 are operating safely at a total capacity of 3060MW.

Unit 3 is under repair. The maintenance personnel are repairing turbine generator 5, overhauling turbine generator 6, repairing the welded joints of the DU-300 pipes of the controlled circulation circuit.

The radiation situation at Leningrad NPP, in Sosnovy Bor and its suburbs is within norm, which proves that the plant is safe.

The radiation background in the area controlled by the automated radiation control system is within norm: 0.07 mSvh in Sosnovy Bor and 0.13 mSvh at Leningrad NPP.
