In 2007 the youth organization of Smolensk NPP admitted new members

Now, the organization has over 100 members, its own symbol and flag.

In 2007 the youths did many useful things:

— provided support to Solnyshko orphanage and children from the boarding school of Yekimovichi village (Roslavl district);

— jointly with Krivichi local history club and Black Berets military-patriotic club, conducted a number of sports events at Rainbow summer camp;

— jointly with the organization of the veterans of Smolensk NPP, gave lectures and showed films about nuclear power production at local schools and organized meetings between schoolchildren and specialists from Smolensk NPP;

— conducted a contest for best research among the young specialists of Smolensk NPP with the best researchers sent to scientific symposiums;

— Memory Watch 2007: a search for the remains of soldiers killed during the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945) was one of the key events of the year. The key objective of the action was to cultivate patriotism among the young employees of the plant.

— During the election into the regional and state dumas the youth organization of Smolensk NPP sent its observers to all 11 electoral districts.

Our youths took an active part in the construction of a new cathedral in Desnogorsk.

In Dec they set up a youth office of the Nuclear Association of Russia.

The office enjoys the supports of all departments and, especially, the director of Smolensk NPP Andrey Petrov.

On Jan 14 2008 Petrov rewarded over 50 members of the youth organization of Smolensk NPP for their contribution to the integration of the plant’s staff.
