On Jan 25 2008 Kalinin NPP produced its 300,000,000,000th KWh

Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant is the biggest electricity producer in Tver region. The plant was launched 24 years ago, Today, it has three WWER-1000 reactors (1000MW each). In the past 24 years Kalinin NPP has implemented lots of innovative and unique projects.

Energy shortfall is an acute problem for Central Russia. Without developing energy sector, our coutnry will not be able to develop its economy. The same is true for Tver region. So, the enhancement of the capacity of Kalinin NPP is a natural solution to this problem.

The construction of a nuclear power plant is a socially and economically beneficial project: such projects create new jobs, improve the social and financial conditions of host-regions. The launch of the 3rd unit of Kalinin NPP in 2004 has given Tver region almost 1bln RUR.

Today, Kalinin NPP is a source of ecologically clean energy and a strong stimulus for the development of Udomlia and Udomlia district. In the past 24 years the city has changed greatly. Kalinin NPP has helped the municipal authorities to build new modern houses, kindergartens, schools, sports and cultural facilities. Today, Kalinin NPP is a successful and dynamically developing enterprise.
