On Dec 21 2007 the management of Leningrad NPP summed up the results of the sports year 2007

People of different age and position attended the meeting. They were all so different but their common value was healthy lifestyle and spirit of victory.

The managers of the plant awarded them for their sports achievements and wished them further success.

In 2007 Leningrad NPP conducted over 50 sports events. Our sportsmen took part in 27 corporate, sectoral and international contests.

Dmitry Semyonov, Yelena Pluzhnikova, Oleg Kutlayev and Neutron football team were proclaimed the best sportsmen of Leningrad NPP in 2007.

— Dmitry Semyonov won the first place in polyathlon at the 4th Winter Olympics of Rosenergoatom Concern; the second and third place in skiing at the 73rd International Holiday of the North in Murmansk; the second place in semi-marathon at Smolensk NPP; the second place in track and field athletics at the International Games of Workers in Albena (Bulgaria).

— Yelena Pluzhnikova won the first places in super slalom and special slalom at the 4th Winter Olympics of Rosenergoatom Concern; the second place in super slalom as part of the team of Rosenergoatoim Concern in the finals of Atomiada-2007; the second place in special slalom and the third place in super slalom as part of the team of the nuclear industry of the 1st International Inter-Sector Olympics “Polar Atom-2007.”

— Oleg Kutlayev was the seventh at the Ping-Pong Championship of Russia; the third at the championship of Leningrad region and the fifth at an international competition.

— The Neutron mini-football team of Leningrad NPP won the Championship of Leningrad region 2007, the cup of Leningrad region and the Soccer Championship of Leningrad region.

The key point of the meeting was the awarding of the winners of the Olympics of Leningrad NPP 2007.

A total of 722 sportsmen from 25 departments and workshops took part in this year’s Olympics. The event was organized excellently.

The support of the manager is essential for the success of the sports team of a department. Support and effective organization are the key guarantee of success. Many of our managers not only support their employees but take an active part in our sports events: the head of the Labor Protection Department O.Yun, the head of the Radiation Safety Department Y.Kozlov, the head of the Reactor Department S.Kharakhnin and the head of the Thermal Automatics and Measurements V.venkin were awarded special prizes at the meeting.

The awards were presented by the chief referee Mikhail Oskolkov, the secretary Yelena Fyodorova and the director of Sports an Culture Center of Leningrad NPP Viktor Malyshenko.

The best among big departments was the Thermal Automatics and Measurements Department (head V.Venkin). The Reactor Department (head S.Kharakhnin) was the second, the Electric Department (head V.Shubin) – the third.

Venkin believes that the strength of his department is in its spirit and will to win: “We were eager to win and did all we could to achieve our goal. We have lots of enthusiasts and they help us a great deal.”

The best among small departments was the Personnel Training Department (head B.Poysh). The team of the Labor Protection and Radiation Safety Departments (heads O.Yun and Y.Kozlov) was the second, the team of the Information Technologies and Capital Construction Departments (heads S.Andreyev and O.Lebedev) was the third.

“Our department is not the biggest and is far from being the youngest. But we are a good team and excellent coaches. This helped us to win,” Poysh said.

A.Bolshakov, R.Mukhametzyanov, S.Bekrenyov, Sh.Jumabekov, A.Zaika, S.Katkov, S.Lunyov and A.Biryukov were proclaimed the best physical culture workers.

The winners were presented with certificates, special awards and cash prizes.

The past year was quite eventful and successful. We wish our sportsmen new achievements in the next year.
