Last Sunday over 300 residents of Poliarnye Zori visited Kola NPP to meet with medal-winner of dogsled championship of Russia Alexander Anikin

The guests were able to see Anikin’s husky sledge and even have a ride on it.

“Siberian Husky is a very friendly dog. Huskies like drawing a sledge, for them it is not a hard job but real pleasure. During championships huskies run up to 190 km at a speed of 30 km an hour,” Anikin said.

Anikin said that Husky was a unique breed. The guests asked him lots of questions. The meeting was very interesting and informative, while the dogsled race was a real pleasure, especially for the children.

Olga Tsybulina, engineer of the Information Center, said that the children were really happy and went home with their eyes full of joy: the meeting with huskies was a great experience for them.

Alexander Anikin is engineer of Metal Control and Testing Department of Kola NPP. He has been breeding and taming huskies for 10 years already and has taken part in lots of dogsled races all over Russia. His huskies have starred in many films and are the favorites of the local kids.
