Leningrad NPP: Jan 21–28 2008
Production
Last week, Jan 21–28 2008, Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant operated safely and efficiently.
Since the beginning of this year the plant has generated 1.917bln KWh or 101.7% of the plan.
Presently, unit 1 is operating at a capacity of 1027 MW.
Unit 2 is operating at a capacity of 1018 MW. On Jan 26 at 2:00 AM the capacity of the unit was reduced to 800MW on the request of the plant and was restored the same day at 6:10 PM.
Unit 3 is being modernized. The personnel are completing the repair of the welded joints of pipelines and are washing the oil systems of turbines 5 and 6.
Unit 4 is operating at a capacity of 1020MW. On Jan 27 at 6:00 AM the capacity of the unit was reduced by 200 MW on the request of the plant and was restored the same day at 6:20 PM
Personnel training
193 employees were trained last week. Particularly, they were taught how to modernize nuclear power units, how to prevent fire, how to protect labor and how to ensure on-site safety.
Social and personnel policy
5 people were employed by the plant last week. 10 people are undergoing employment procedure.
21 students of Novovoronezh Polytechnic College and 6 students of Ivanovo State University came to the plant for probation.
66 employees were sent to Kopanskoye sanatorium for rehabilitation.
Sports events
The polyathlon and skiing team of Leningrad NPP took part in the Rosenergoatom competition at Beloyarsk NPP and won the 3rd place. Dmitry Semyonov won the first place in polyathlon individual.
Financial-economic activities
Last week the Financial-Economic Department prepared and submitted to the Government a report on the performance of Leningrad NPP in 2007. In 2007 the plant supplied consumers with 22.515bln KWh – 106.2% of the index of 2006. The commercial output of the plant made up 16.917bln RUR or 122.3% of the index of 2006.
International and information activities
The International Relations Department conducted an international seminar for exchange of experience in operating personnel training with the participation of representatives of Kola NPP, Leningrad NPP, Rostekhnadzor and Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland (STUK).
Results
As of today, Jan 28 2008, Rosenergoatom NPPs are operating 28 units and 44 turbine generators, which are working at a total capacity of 20.9GW against planned 20.1GW. Since the beginning of this year the plants have generated 13.3bln KWh.
The key tasks for the next week – Jan 28-Feb 4 2008 are:
— to complete the overhaul of unit 3;
— on Feb 2 the technical director of Leningrad NPP will hold a meeting on the last stage of the overhaul of unit 3.
