The units are operating safely at a total capacity of 2040MW. On Feb 8 unit 2 was stopped for planned maintenance.

Feb 1–18 2008 Smolensk NPP produced 928mln KWh.

The radiation background at Smolensk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
