On Feb 17 Smolensk NPP conducted swimming contest

Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant gives high importance to the health of its employees.

In February the plant conducted lots of sports events.

On Feb 17 it conducted swimming contests among men and women. 42 employees from 13 departments contended in 50 m freestyle and relay race.

Yekaterina Portnykh from Radioactive Waste Treatment Department was the best among female juniors, Ludmila Bogomolova from Lesnaya Poliana sanatorium – the best among female seniors.

Aleskey Severin from Reactor Department and Igor Kovalsky from Lesnaya Poliana sanatorium won the contests in junior and senior groups, respectively.

Seven teams took plat in the relay race. The team of Lesnaya Poliana was the first, the team of Thermal Automatics and Measurements Department – the second, the team of Turbine Department – the third.

The same day Smolensk NPP conducted an open street-ball tournament. 4 teams took part in it. The team of Reactor Department was the best.

Skiing marathon «100 km in 24 hours» took place in Desnogorsk on Feb 16–17. Sportsmen from Smolensk, Briansk and Desnogorsk took part in it.

Vladimir Fyoderov (Production Department) and Galina Berkova (Centralized Repair Department) were among the winners. Employees of Electric Department of Smolensk NPP Anatoly Lakhitn and Viktor Kamzeyev were the fastest in 125 km race.
