In 2007 Leningrad NPP was the leader of the economic and budgetary system of Leningrad region

In 2007 Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (branch of Rosenergoatom Concern) retained its leading positions in the economy and the budgetary system of Leningrad region.

The share of the plant in the gross regional product of Sosnovy Bor, its satellite city, made up 60.5% (commercial output – 17bln RUR) and in the GRP of Leningrad region – 2% (as much as in 2006 even though the economy of the region had significantly grown).

Experts say that after the launch of the construction of Leningrad NPP-2 the share of the industry in the gross regional product will begin to grow.

In 2007 Leningrad NPP was the second biggest tax payer among the nuclear power plants of Russia: it paid 1.273bln RUR into the regional and local budgets (against 1.07bln RUR in 2006).

The share of director payments into the budgetary system of the consolidated budget of Leningrad region made up 2.6%, while the share of the plant’s payments into the budget of Sosnovy Bor – exceeded 12%.

In 2007 the existing 10 nuclear power plants and the 3 constructed NPPs of Russia paid in taxes a total of 8.215bln RUR.
