Head of Far East Regional Center of Emergency Ministry of Russia has visited Bilibino NPP

On Feb 20 2008 the head of the Far East Regional Center of the Emergency Ministry of Russia, Maj.Gen. Yuri Naryshkin visited Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant and met with the director Farit Tukhvertov and the chief engineer Konstantin Ozerov.

The latter told Naryshkin about the plant’s measures for ensuring its fire safety. Naryshkin visited the Emergency Ministry’s units in Bilibino. He also met with representatives of the Bilibino administration and discussed with them ways to effectively protect the local population from possible emergencies.

Naryshkin also visited fire service #8 and watched how they were preparing for the tactical exercise “Extinguishing Fire in the Machine Compartment of the Main Building of Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant.”
