Engineers of the Year work at Kola NPP

Two employees of Kola NPP have become laureates of Engineer of the Year 2007

16 workers have been granted awards in Professional Engineers and Engineering Art of the Youth nominations.

Kola NPP has professional engineers. For many years it has worked without incidents. Our specialists not only prove their efficiency on site but also significantly contribute to the development of engineering in Russia. It is not the first time that our engineers are winning the Engineer of the Year competition.

This year we have two laureates: the deputy chief engineer for maintenance Yuri Yaschenko in Professional Engineers nomination and the senior electrician of the electric department Artyom Beliayev – in Engineering Art of the Youth nomination.

The following workers have been granted the title of Professional Engineer: D.Dubinin (electric department), R.Kolpakova (metrology department), S.Kreis (radiation safety department), L.Naumov (engineering support department), O.Ustinov (chemical department) and I.Smetanin (centralized maintenance department).

The following workers have won the first round of Engineering Art of the Youth: V.Bobkov (planning and economic department), D.Dolbenko (chemical department), M.Ivanov and S.Godovanik (metal control department), A.Koltakov (centralized maintenance department), A.Mikhaylov (metrology department), D.Poletayev (turbine department), V.Trubitsyn (thermal automatics and measurements department), I.Khalzev and I.Tsernikel (electric department).

The awarding ceremony is to take place in Moscow in the hall of engineering glory of the Russian Union of Research and Engineering Public Organizations on Feb 26–28 2008.

The annual all-Russian competition “Engineer of the Year” is the key event of the engineering community of the country. It is sponsored by the Government of the Russian Federation and the heads of regions. The objective of the competition is to reveal the best engineers of the country, to make their achievements and experience widely accessible, to popularize the profession of engineer and to attract the attention of the authorities to the problems of engineer.
