Volgodonsk NPP: results of inspection are positive

On Feb 18–22 Rosenergoatom Concern conducted target fire safety inspection at Volgodonsk NPP

In line with the schedule of safety inspections at the nuclear power plants of Russia in 2008, approved by the general inspector of Rosenergoatom Concern Erik Pozdyshev, on Feb 18–22 2008 a commission of Rosenergoatom Concern conducted a target fire safety inspection at Volgodonsk Nuclear Power Plant. The inspectors used the methods generally accepted in the Concern.

They inspected the following fields:

— the plant’s work to ensure its fire safety;
— organization of fire prevention measures;
— organization and execution of fire dangerous activities;
— state of fire response systems and means;
— state of workplaces.

The results of the inspection were positive: Volgodonsk NPP complies with fire safety standards.
