VNIIEF conducts 8th School Kharitonov Lectures

8th School Lectures started in the House of Scientists of VNIIEF on Feb 28 on the birthday of outstanding Russian physicist, one of the creators of nuclear weapon Yuly Kharitonov

186 school-leavers from different cities of Russia are taking part in the lectures.

The vice chairman of the organizing committee, the director of Nuclear Radiation Physics Institute Valery Punin welcomed the children. The research manager of VNIIEF Rady Ilkayev, the head of the administration of Sarov Valery Dimitrov, his deputy Igor Konchakov made speeches. They showed the children a documentary film about the scientists of different historical periods. Now the authors of the theses are getting ready for defense.

13 sections will be working in college #15 on Feb 29 and Mar 1. The program of the conference includes interesting lectures, plenary sessions, roundtables. The closing and awarding ceremony is to take place in the House of Scientists on Mar 2.
