Performance of Kola NPP in Feb 2007 and 2008

In Feb 2007 Kola Nuclear Power Plant produced 1.027bln KWh – 132mln KWh more than in Feb 2007.

The capacity factor made up 83.84% against 75.69% a year before.

Since its launch Kola NPP has generated 309.429bln KWh.

The electricity production plan for 2008 is 11.160bln KWh.

On Feb 29 2008 all the four units of Kola NPP were in service and operated at a total capacity of 1,480 MW.

On Mar 1 2008 Kola NPP is starting maintenance campaign. On Mar 3 2008 unit 3 will be stopped for 65-day repair.

The radiation situation at Kola NPP and in its 30-km monitoring zone is within norm.

The radiation background at Kola NPP and in the nearby area is within 0.07–0.10 mSvh with the natural radiation background in Russia being 0.04–0.20 mSvh.
