Leningrad NPP to host practical exercise for civil defense and emergency response specialists

On Mar 20 2008 Leningrad NPP and Sosnovy Bor are hosting a practical exercise for deputy heads of regional civil defense and emergency response centers

The deputy emergency minister of Russia P.Plat, the director of the Civil Defense Department of the Emergency Ministry S.Shaposhnikov and the head of the Chief Department of the Emergency Ministry for Leningrad NPP V.Kudryavtsev are expected to attend the event.

The guests are supposed to visit the water filtration and purification system of the hydraulic department of Leningrad NPP (the village of Sisto-Palkino), which supplies Sosnovy Bor with drinking water, and the upgraded alarm system of the 5-km zone. Their colleagues from Leningrad NPP will tell them about the plant’s civil defense projects and the activities of the emergency response center.

The exercise is part of the training meeting of representatives of regional civil defense and emergency response centers that is taking place in Leningrad region on Mar 18–21. The objective of the exercise is to improve the civil defense system of the region.
