In 2008 NIIIS is planning to start the construction of the fourth apartment house in the framework of “Southern Gates of the City” program

During a press-tour on Mar 19 the director of NIIIS (Y.Y.Sedakov Research Institute of Measuring Systems), the director of Nizhnov-Engineering-Story (NiIS Ltd) Alexander Repin told the journalists that, initially, they planned to finish the third apartment house (Gagarin Avenue, Priokski district, Nizhniy Novgorod) in the fourth quarter of 2008, particularly, in Dec, but, most probably, the house would be ready in Aug. 69 of 135 apartments will be given to NIIIS employees at a preferential price: 20,000 RUR per 1 sq m – 1/3 of the market price. 

In the second quarter of 2008 NiIS Ltd is planning to start the construction of the fourth apartment house (109 apartments). It will be built in the place of an old two-storied house. The fourth house is to be ready by Dec 2009. Repin said that they had already received a license for the land and had concluded the rent contract.

The chairman of the Trade Union of NIIIS Mikhail Pigarev said that 356 NIIIS employees, including 108 young specialists, were waiting to move to new houses. 67 young specialists obtained new housing in 2003.

To remind, in Aug 2006 the mayor of Nizhniy Novgorod Vadim Bulavinov ratified an act of acceptance of a new apartment house built for NIIIS employe3es in the framework of the “Southern Gates of the City” program. It was a nine-storied house with 135 apartments (46 one-room, 43 two-room and 46 three-room apartments) and a total area of 11,000 sq m.

The contractor is applying modern energy saving technologies, particularly, triple glazing, electronic heating control system, temperature control systems, water and gas meters.

The territory for the houses has been allotted by NIIIS in the framework of “Nizhniy Novgorod – Capital of Volga Region” program. The objective of this program is to make Prioksky district of Nizhniy Novgorod an attractive place and to create comfortable living and recreation conditions for its residents.

The total cost of the “Southern Gates of the City” program is 837mln RUR: 9mln RUR on the creation of a park zone, 115mln RUR on the construction of a gym and a swimming pool, 10mln RUR on reconstruction of the façades of NIIS administrative buildings, 90mln RUR on the reconstruction of the façade of NIIS central building, 19mln RUR on the reconstruction of children’s culture center, 3–4mln RUR on the construction of a kiot, 590mln RUR on the construction of apartment houses.
