NIIIS organizes “Social Initiative of Nuclear Workers” press-tour

“Social Initiative of Nuclear Workers” press-tour took place at NIIIS on Mar 19

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Innovations and the Ministry of Construction of Nizhniy Novgorod region, the administration of Prioksky district, the Nizhniy Novgorod Diocese and NIIIS (Y.Y. Sedakov Research Institute of Measruing Systems) met with over 20 journalists from electronic and printed mass media of Nizhniy Novgorod and Sarov.

The key topic of the press-tour was the social projects of NIIIS and the “Southern Gates of the City” urban development program. The acting director of NIIIS A.Sedakov told the journalists that his institute was implementing 10 social projects: “Strong Family Needs Strong Walls” (housing construction and mortgage crediting project), “Young Specialists” (project for adaptation and support of young specialists and encouragement of their business initiative and active lifestyle), “People Decide Everything” (personnel development project), “Children Are Our Future” (project for education and personal development of the children of NIIIS employees).

Sedakov said: “The improvement of our social policy will help us to recruit more young specialists by paying them high wages and providing them with social benefits.”

The representatives of the authorities of Nizhniy Novgorod and Prioksky district applauded NIIIS for its complex approach to the development of the social infrastructure of Prioksky district. From its very first day the institute has worked hard to create worthy living and social conditions for its employees and the residents of Prioksky district. In the past 40 years the institute has built almost 50 apartment houses, 2 schools, 4 kindergartens and lots of social facilities. The institute has also restored part of the local communications and has reinforced the shore of Oka River. NIIIS’s park is the most popular recreation zone in the district.

The journalists visited the apartment buildings constructed by the institute in the framework of its housing construction and mortgage crediting project “Strong Family Needs Strong Walls” and the “Southern Gates of the City” urban development program. NIIIS has already built two ten-storied houses and in the third quarter of this year is planning to finish one more a 135-apartment house. The institute is also planning to build a house for young specialists.

Near the southern gates of Nizhniy Novgorod NIIIS has mounted a kiot with the icons of Seraphim of Sarov and Pantheleimon the Healer. In the territory of its park zone NIIIS is building a Cathedral of Ioann of Krondtadt.

The press-tour was a good opportunity for NIIIS to demonstrate the high social standards applied at Rosatom companies.
