1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP is operating safely and efficiently

On Mar 20 there was a fire at the construction site of the 2nd unit of Rostov Nuclear Power Plant: a waste bin must have caught fire from a sparkle produced during the construction work. It took the firemen just half an hour to put the fire out.

The construction site is far from the operating 1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP.

The unit is operating safely and efficiently. The radiation background at Volgodonsk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
