Three units are in service at Smolensk NPP

Turbine generator 4 of unit 2 is being repaired.

The units are operating safely at a total capacity of 2,560MW.

On Mar 1–24 2008 Smolensk NPP generated 1.221bln KWh. Since the beginning of this year the plant has produced 4.859bln KWh.

The radiation background at Smolensk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
