Nuclear submarine of first generation to be dismantled at Nerpa shipyard

A multi-purpose nuclear submarine of the first generation will be dismantled at Nerpa shipyard

In late Feb Nerpa shipyard and NUKEM Ltd. (UK) signed a contract for dismantling of a nuclear submarine of November class. The cost of the contract is 3.8mln pounds.

The project will be carried out in two stages. At first, the submarine, which is now at Poliarnisky Shipyard-10, will be defueled to be later towed to Nerpa for dismantling. The project is to be finished by early 2009.
