Servicemen granted new apartments on the Day of Interior Troops

Today, on the Day of Interior troops of Russia, 23 families of servicemen guarding Balakovo NPP moved to new apartments granted by Rosenergoatom Concern

On behalf of the director general of Rosenergoatom Concern, the director of Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant Viktor Ignatov handed them the keys of their new houses. The commander of the interior troops of Volga Region, Lieut. Gen. Yakov Nedobitko and the executive of the Special Security Department of Rosenergoatom Concern Alexander Kondrashenkov were present at the ceremony.

This is not the first such action: 20 families were granted apartments in June 2007. Nedobitko pointed out that the command and soldiers of the interior troops highly appreciated the attention Rosenergoatom Concern paid to their social problems. As a token of gratitude, he presented Ignatov with medal “200th Anniversary of the Interior Ministry of Russia.”

Note

The special battalion of interior forces guarding Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant was formed in 1984. The battalion controls the plant and the nearby area. The command of the battalion holds regular exercises to improve the preparedness of the servicemen so they be able to effective discharge their duties.
