Organization of Young Workers of Smolensk NPP sums up the results of 2007
The Organization of Young Workers of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant met on Mar 28 2008 to sum up the results of the work done in 2007 in the fields of production, culture, sports, patriotic, spiritual and moral education, social security.
The organization has substantially grown since its reorganization in Mar 2007and now has over 120 members. During the meeting they elected new board. The specialist of the Information and PR Center of Smolensk NPP Yevgeny Shupta was re-elected the chairman of the board.
This year the organization is planning to intensify its work with schoolchildren of Desnogorask and to improve the professionalism of its members.
“Atomny Yeralash”
Festival of merry and quick-witted teams “Atomny Yeralash” (“Nuclear Muddle”) took place in Desnogorsk on mar 29. Young people from the satellite cities of Novovoronezh, Kalinin and Smolensk NPPs — Novovoronezh, Udomlia and Desnogorsk, respectively – as well as Sarov, the scientific center of the nuclear industry of Russia, and Roslavl, took part in the festival. The slogan of the festival was “Nuclear Friendship Without Frontiers.”
The youths were very funny and humorous and the audience was really enraptured. The team from Desnogorsk was the best, Epicenter from Sarov — the second, the teams from Visaginos (Lithuania) and Novovoronezh – the third.
“Magic Ornaments” in Desnogorsk
Exhibition of decorative arts and crafts “Magic Ornaments” took place in Desnogorsk on Mar 6–28 2008. The exhibition presented wood and fabric painting, criss-cross patterns, needlework, ikebana, beadwork.
The authors of the works were mostly employees of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant. Some works were real masterpieces.
On Mar 19 Tamara Gorchakova and Irina Korovina held a master-class. They told the audience about their art, works and methods. Hundreds of people visited the exhibition.
