Bilibino NPP: No single accident in the last three years

On Apr 17, on the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the acting director of Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant K.Ozerov held a labor protection conference.

The International Labor Organization has been marking this day annually on Apr 28 since 2003 with a view to consider ways to reduce on-site mortality and to improve labor conditions.

Bilibino NPP conducts Day of Labor Protection every month so as to prevent possible accidents and on-site injuries.

The head of the Labor Protection Department L.Ganzer presented the key theses of the address of the general inspector of Rosenergoatom Concern Erik Pozdyshev to the employees of the Rosenergoatom NPPs. In his address Pozdyshev urges the managers of the NPPs to conduct explanatory campaigns in order to prevent on-site accidents and injuries.

The heads of departments made reports on the results of mutual labor protection inspections. Ozerov pointed out that in the past years the plant had done really huge work to improve its labor conditions and to prevent on-site accidents. As a result, it has recorded no single accident in the last three years.

The work to improve labor conditions is carried out on a systematic basis. All deficiencies are timely removed. The results of this work are obvious: the personnel are brought to work by comfortable buses; are provided with modern uniforms and high-quality instruments; are regularly examined and, if necessary, are sent to sanatoriums in Central Russia.

The key priority of the International Labor Organization is to provide men and women with worthy labor opportunities based on equality, social security and respect of human dignity.
