2nd unit of Smolensk NPP restarted

2nd unit of Smolensk NPP has been restarted

The 2nd unit of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant was restarted on Apr 20 at 09:45. It was stopped on Apr 17 following a problem in its pipeline. The problem has been removed.

Presently, the capacity of the unit is being raised. The unit and its equipment are operating safely.

Presently, three units are in service at Smolensk NPP. They are operating at a total capacity of 2,600MW.

The radiation background at Smolensk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
