Seminar “Capacities and Development Prospects of Nuclear Power Equipment Construction” held in Kolontayevo

Seminar “Capacities and Development Prospects of Nuclear Power Equipment Construction” took place in Kolontayevo on Apr 16–17

The seminar was organized by TVEL Corporation in cooperation with Atomenergomash OJSC and TsNIITMASh OJSC. The deputy director general of Atomenergoprom K.Komarov, the president of TVEL OJSC Y.Olenin, the managers and representatives of research, machine building and companies attended the seminar. The objective of the seminar was to analyze the situation in the machine building complex of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and to search for ways to enhance its efficiency.

The general opinion was that horizontal integration and intra-sector cooperation were the best ways to enhance the efficiency of the companies producing equipment for the nuclear industry.

The participants in the seminar decided to set up a coordinating committee for enhancing the efficiency of the use of the capacities of the machine building industry. The committee is supposed to analyze the existing technological capabilities of equipment producers, their ongoing investment projects, excess capacities and demand for cooperation. For this purpose, the committee will conduct a questioning survey. The committee’s work will be supervised by Atomenergomash OJSC.   

The participants in the seminar pointed out that it was quite fruitful and decided to hold such seminars once in six months.
