“From Splinter to Nuclear Power Plant” – such was the title of the project conducted in kindergartens of Udomlia last week
The little experts, painters, writers, poets and journalists presented their works to their peers and parents. They showed a very serious approach to the task of the contest: to know about electricity and nuclear power plants as much as possible.
The children invented lots of interesting riddles, tales and poems and painted lots of brightly colored pictures.
No surprise – the contest was preceded by several months of preparatory work. Since Dec 2007, the organizer of the contest, the PR Center of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant, had conducted a series of excursions for kids and each “whyer” was able to ask as many questions as he liked.
Meanwhile, their teachers were collecting relevant materials, inventing experiments, conducting quizzes, arranging meetings with interesting people. They did really huge work and it has given tangible results. So, we can say that the project has achieved its goal: to foster children’s creativity and to help them to better know the world.
In May the PR Center of Kalinin NPP will organize a special exhibition for displaying the best works of the “From Splinter to Nuclear Power Plant” project. The exhibition will be followed by a scientific lecture where little researchers will present their reports.
