On Apr 24 Information-Analytical Center of Kursk NPP conducted a labor protection seminar for managers and specialists of the plant’s departments and contractor organizations
Representatives of the administration of Kursk region, the federal supervisory authorities and the companies supplying Kursk NPP with modern individual protection means attended the seminar. The event was dedicated to the World Day for Safety and Health at Work held by the International Labor Organization every year on Apr 28.
The deputy chief inspector of Kursk NPP Nikolay Dus welcomed his colleagues and pointed out the importance of effective occupational safety and health (OSH) management for the life and health of each employee of the plant and its contractor organizations. “Safety must be given top priority in our work,” Dus said.
The senior inspector Igor Korpunkov made a report on the plant’s labor protection measures in 2007. He said that no single injury has been recorded at Kursk NPP in the last years due to the effective OSH management policy of the plant’s management. The plant actively involves corporate mass media and quality management commission in OSH projects.
The senior inspector Alexander Rylkov made a report on the most typical violations of the requirements of the work permit procedure. He urged his colleagues not to commit them any more.
The first vice chairman of the Labor Committee of Kursk NPP Viktor Zakharov reported on the committee’s work in 2007.
The seminar was followed buy a presentation and exhibition of companies supplying Kursk NPP with special uniforms.
28 April is the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This day is held every year with the aim to focus attention on promoting and creating a safe and healthy culture at work.
