Awards for labor
On Apr 25, on the eve of the holiday of spring and labor, the governor of Smolensk region Sergey Antufyev granted state awards to a number of employees of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant. Medal of the Order “For Service to Motherland” was granted to the operator of the Centralized Maintenance Department Nikolay Nemchenkov. By the decree of the President of Russia, the Honored Power Engineer of Russia title was conferred on the head of the Centralized Maintenance Department Vladimir Iterkin and the shift manager Sergey Marakhanov.
The deputy head of the medical-sanitary unit #135 of Desnogorsk Irina Krimusheva was proclaimed the Honored Doctor of Russia.
The awarding ceremony took place in the regional administration.
The head of the administration of Desonogorsk granted certificates of honor for popularizing sports in the region to the deputy director Pavel Luneskoy, the head of the Process Management Department Vladimir Pashichev, the heads of the Thermal Automatics and Measurement Department Borsi Zakharov, the head of the Turbine Department — Alexander Podolov, the head of the Centralized Maintenance Department – Vladimir Iterkin.
Smolensk NPP employs over 5,000 people and each third goes in for sports.
Pilot project
On Apr 22–24 the managers of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant and a group of consultants from AMEC NNC (the Untied Kingdom) held a working conference on the TACIS pilot project “Management of Changes in Organization.”
The parties analyzed the potential risks of organizational changes that may influence the safety and efficiency of the plant and outlined the role and responsibilities of its managers in change management.
The key goal of the project is to draft a guide on organizational change management. The guide is supposed to help the executives of Smolensk NPP to reduce the potential risk of the negative effect of any organizational change on the efficiency of a company and to regularly conduct preparatory measures for introducing organizational changes on the basis of experience.
The parties examined the draft of the guide worked out by specialists of Smolensk NPP. As soon as all necessary revisions are made, the guide will be put into force.
