Kalinin NPP: three years without accidents

On Apr 28 the world community marked the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. On Apr 30 Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant conducted a number of events dedicated to this day.

The managers of the plant, representatives of the All-Russian Research Institute for Labor Protection and Economics, the administration of Udomlia district and the primary trade union organization of the plant, directors of hospitals and other facilities took part in the events.

Nuclear power plant is a complex and high-technological production. Kalinin NPP has a whole system of occupational safety and health management measures aimed at protecting the health of each of its employees. Regular days of labor protection are part of this system and the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is one such day. Kalinin NPP has marked this day for the fourth time already.

The chief inspector of Kalinin NPP Alexander Shaliapin pointed out that KNPP was the first company in Tver region to start marking the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. «It seems to me that each year we conduct this day even more successfully. This day is extremely important: on this day each person feels necessity to care for his comrade and his own self.»

The statistics given by the director of Kalinin NPP Leonid Martynovchenko confirm this fact: «For three years already our plant has had no single accident. This is a very serious achievement and we feel responsibility to show even better results.»

On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work the governor of Tver region Dmitry Zelenin presented Kalinin NPP with a letter of gratitude for its achievements in the field of labor protection.
